Daniel Management Group has promoted Lauren Evett to vice president of property management, where she will set the strategic direction for each asset as it moves from acquisition or repositioning into stable operations, the Chicago-based multifamily management and investment company announced in a Thursday press release.
Evett joined Daniel Management in 2021 as a property manager. In her new role, she will take on a larger portfolio with a wider array of assets, clients and staff, according to DMG.
Evett brings a broad range of experience and a comprehensive viewpoint to the new position, per the release, having made logo, branding and advertising recommendations; conducted staffing evaluations; and advised on outdoor and common area amenity choices and how to boost properties’ curb appeal.

As markets continue to absorb the recent apartment delivery wave, a large number of apartments are still in lease-up. At the same time, many renters are opting to stay put. Although the Midwest — where DMG is focused — is more stable than the Sun Belt, operators are still competing for tenants.
“With resident retention at a high at most properties and less new development, it becomes harder to motivate residents to move to a new building,” Evett told Multifamily Dive in emailed comments. “We work closely on a lease-up to strategically reach potential residents and showcase [to] them the incredible amenities that may be a draw for them.”
Some of the amenities DMG offers to attract and retain tenants include fitness centers, rooftop grills and dog walks, Evett said. Additionally, DMG brings in partners for perks such as yoga and wellness classes, food trucks and seasonal gatherings “to create community at the amenity spaces.”
DMG Founder and President Roger Daniel said in the release that “Lauren’s ability to see the full picture for each of her properties — from the numbers to the curb appeal — is what sets her apart.”
Evett’s promotion is part of DMG's efforts to develop leaders internally, per the release, and comes at a time of growth for the company. In January, Daniel Management brought on Ian Bingham as senior vice president of business development and Gzim Durakovic as director of maintenance.
In August, Daniel told Multifamily Dive that although third-party management remains the firm’s focus, DMG also has a capital-raising side that helps it buy properties. Daniel said the company is seeing “supply constraints, strong absorption and strong rent growth” in the Midwest. It operates in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Texas, and recently expanded into Iowa.
