Legal challenges related to this issue are continuing to wind their way through the courts. Judges recently narrowed two major cases related to landlords’ use of RealPage’s revenue management software, while Camden decided to settle its part of a major class-action suit.
At the same time, the federal government is continuing to probe the industry. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., recently asked major landlords for data about their business practices, citing abuse of such rent-setting software, among other things.
