In June, nearly 11,000 apartment professionals braved the sweltering heat and occasional storminess of New Orleans to attend the National Apartment Association’s Apartmentalize Conference.
This year’s event featured speakers such as actress Nicole Kidman, football coaching legend Nick Saban and investor and television personality Daymond John, as well as a massive exhibit hall and 110 education sessions.
As a sign of where the apartment industry is headed, more than 25% of those sessions touched on artificial intelligence.
“Everybody is talking about AI, and I don’t think there’s any aspect of operations that AI is not having an effect on or the way people do business in the industry,” said Clark Ebbert, NAA’s director of conference education programming, on The NAA Apartmentcast podcast on May 18.
The technology’s impact has become widespread throughout apartment operations. “AI touches marketing, it touches leasing, it touches communications for leasing,” Ebbert said.
