After posting gains in 2024, the apartment sales market has seen some slowing in 2025.
Deal volume fell 14% year over year to $35.1 billion in the second quarter, according to a report that data firm MSCI Real Assets shared with Multifamily Dive.
However, that didn’t stop firms such as Equity Residential, Platte Canyon, Midloch Investment Partners and Slate Asset Management from buying properties with interesting pasts. Additionally, Blackfin Real Estate Advisors and JRK Property Holdings leveraged summer acquisitions as a springboard to enter new markets.
