The beginning of October brought a handful of promotions and new executive additions from multifamily firms. Here is a look at some of the key moves.
Fogelman
Memphis, Tennessee-based owner and manager Fogelman expanded its executive leadership team with the appointment of Kristy Heuberger as president of investment management and promotion of Justin Marshall to president of property services.

Heuberger will assume a newly created role as leader of the firm’s investment management platform, overseeing transactions, portfolio management, asset management, capital formation and investor relations, according to a press release. She has over 30 years of real estate experience and was most recently the co-head of the Americas and head of asset management at LaSalle Investment Management.
Marshall, formerly chief operating officer at Fogelman, will oversee the firm’s property operations, construction management and client relations for managed assets as president of property services.
Grubb Properties
North Carolina-based owner, manager and developer Grubb Properties promoted Todd Williams to president and Harold A. “Skip” Schwartz III, who joined the firm earlier this year, to chief investment officer.
Williams joined Grubb in 2005 as senior vice president of investments and advanced to chief investment officer, a position he has held since 2016, according to a news release. As president, he will oversee the company’s construction, development and operations teams.

Williams will replace Scott Brown, who will transition from his full-time duties to assume a senior advisor role supporting the firm in several areas.
Schwartz, who has three decades of experience in all phases of real estate investment management across global markets, will work to expand Grubb Properties’ partnerships with institutional investors and consultants globally as the new chief investment officer. He will also lead the broader client relations teams of capital formations and investor relations, as well as the firm’s asset management function.
Waterton

Chicago-based Waterton announced that it hired Sean Jacobson as senior vice president of portfolio management.
Jacobson will be responsible for multifamily investment strategies, portfolio construction and diversification strategies within the firm’s value-add fund platform, according to a news release.
Previously, Jacobson served as the director of real estate at NexPoint Real Estate Advisors, a Dallas-based alternative investment firm, where he led acquisition, asset management and disposition initiatives. He was also a senior acquisition/asset manager at Des Moines, Iowa-based BH Equities, managing investment execution for multifamily acquisitions.
